Useful information

A question of size

The largest routine works we can tackle are 3000 x 1600 mm (118 x 63 inches) We do occasionally manage bigger, but the maximum width will never exceed 2000 mm (78 inches approx)

At the opposite end of the scale, the smallest works we can produce come in at 200 x 250 mm (8 x 10 inches) Anything less would be dangerous when cutting and trimming to size on our workshop machinery.

The best type of papers / finish

A matt finish photographic paper will produce the best results when looking to Diasec works. Lambda, C Type or Fujiflex are ideal for this process.

Avoid fibre-based papers if you can. These tend to be difficult to lay flat due to their tendency to cockle. Even straight forward dry mounting on to aluminium can prove tricky, so when working with these we always suggest that there is good excess left to trim off around the image - the more, the better.

For other papers especially when you want a Diasec® to image it’s always a good idea to leave 50 mm (2 inches) excess borders all round.

Sending us works

It is always a good idea to e-mail your instructions in advance. Let us know when we should expect the artwork to arrive and from whom. What you would like us to do with it and your contact details. Include your full postal address and telephone numbers.

Make sure that your package has your name clearly marked on the address label as the sender. If you are asking another party to send the artwork in for you, please remind them that this is crucial so that we can identify the artwork as yours.

Condition reporting

When receiving a package, it is not always possible for us to examine the item closely for damage immediately. We may be loading in goods, attending to another client in person or speaking on the telephone.

We open works for inspection shortly before we are due to commence mounting. We do not accept liability for prints that may arrive at our workshop damaged in any event.

If we have any concerns regarding condition, we will notify you immediately. Please rest assured, it’s a very rare occurrence for any works to arrive with us in a damaged state.

Wrapping & delivery

We are unable to offer a routine collection or delivery service for your works. However, it may sometimes be possible to arrange something for you. Should you need a delivery service do ask and we will let you know if we can comply.

All of our panels are wrapped using 4mm thick white polyethylene foam with reinforced corners. It prevents surface damage & scratching during transit & storage. It is also recyclable.

We over wrap this material with 400-gauge, medium duty polythene sheeting. As an added layer of protection, the polythene is also useful when transporting wrapped works in damp weather.

Our wrapping is perfect for door to door, single vehicle journeys within the M25 area. If you are looking at overnight storage and multi-level transport requirements, we would advise that using solid custom-made wooden packing crates is the way to go. We can provide these for you if requested, they come with an ISPM 15 compliance stamp.
